Light Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I know, I know. Yet ANOTHER smoothie for the blog. What can I say? Smoothies are awesome. This one is a smoothie classic, fresh and fruity without the calories. Remember when I said my Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie was my favorite? Well, it still is, but it unfortunately is a bit on the caloric side. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty darn healthy, it just takes quite a few ingredients to get that strawberry cheesecake taste. This smoothie is much lighter and tastes just as delicious. Although it is missing a bit of that cheesecakeyness, it has a super sweet taste that will leave your sweet tooth happy. I hope you enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 3/4 frozen banana
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 4 frozen strawberries
  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth and creamy.

  1. I just made this but I HAD to use vanilla ice cream as I did not have any yogurt. I guess that changes the name a little. Not so “light” any more. Oh my goodness was it delicious though! What a nice treat it was at the end of a hot day here on the west coast.

    1. Haha! I guess sometimes you have to do what you have to do 😀 For future reference, if you don’t have yogurt you can add a couple more frozen strawberries or bananas. You can also leave out the yogurt, but your smoothie may lose some sweetness and thickness.
